Todos los vecinos de mi barrio duermen siesta,
pero hay chicos que golpean puertas fastidiando:
piden pan y no dejan
escribir los mejores poemas sobre el hambre.

some say we should keep personal remorse from the
stay abstract, and there is some reason in this,
twelve poems gone and I don’t keep carbons and you have
paintings too, my best ones; its stifling:
are you trying to crush me out like the rest of them?
why didn’t you take my money? they usually do
from the sleeping drunken pants sick in the corner.
next time take my left arm or a fifty
but not my poems:
I’m not Shakespeare
but sometime simply
there won’t be any more, abstract or otherwise;
there’ll always be mony and whores and drunkards
down to the last bomb,
but as God said,
crossing his legs,
I see where I have made plenty of poets
but not so very much

a)Balazo 18 rents out its space for music, art opening and private parties.
Our current policies for music events are that we rent out our space for two different prices, 21 and over for $180.00 and all ages shows are $250.00. This payment is due 2 weeks prior to secure/book the dates for the bands. The bands book their line up and place the cover charge. The initial $250 or $180 from the door that is/if made goes back to the bands then we split the rest 80/20: 80% of money for the bands, 20% of money for The Balazo. Also if the initial $250 or $180 is not made back at the door, that amount is what is given to the artist/bands.
For Art opening and private parties, proposals should ber sent to [email protected]
b)We require the payment 2 weeks before to secure the date,You can send the deposit to 2183 Mission St to hold the date, making out the check to ‘Balazo 18 Gallery’. If we don’t have the deposit by then, we reserve the right to cancel the show and try and find something else to fill that date. Starting a week before the show, if you cancel or pull out, we keep the deposit.
c)Any flyers for your event can be brought to The Balazo to be handed out and the earliest the better. Any illegal posting’s that is against any city ordinace bearing the Balazo18 Gallery name will be the sole responsibility or the artist/promoter. Fines will be the responsibility of the artist/promoter. We promote on our website, email list, and for big shows, in the local weeklies and papers, as well as radio shows and ticket give-aways. We expect that you will do your fair share of promotion for the show.
